Patrick, I think this is a wonderful contribution to the world. Thank you and prayers are with your family.

After a couple of failed attempts on bad paper and printing the wrong other side, I have a good version on 120gsm laserjet paper in my Midori TN now! First step in finishing my remaining moleskines and moving over to the TN.

That's great to hear snowblink! Can't wait to see your actual usage. Different people use different notations. Planning to do a post about various methods when I come back from Las Vegas CES show.

I find the design interesting and elegant but not unique. While I have no links to share with you, I've seen circulat daily planners in many formats.

My personal experience with planners and calendars points me to simplicity and immediate recognition. Perhaps with habitual use, the circle's day's density is discernible I don't see practical advantages over conventional, perhaps boring, linear time assignment systems.

I'll be watching the thread for several weeks to see how real world usage shakes out.

ONe of your site's visitors suggested a rubber stamp. That's a great idea. Has a level of funkiness that is lost in printing off rigidly formatted sheets.

Thanks for your comment Bogiesan, the Chronodex format is definitely not everybody's cup of tea I agree.

Rubber stamp, I'm working on it.

Here's a few more fun things to do with Chronodex.

Chronodex Daily GTD in A5 page format (to be printed on A4 paper)

Gives you a lot more space for note taking, task and priority tracking, even mind mapping.

For those of you who like to take notes/tasks on iPad, GhostWriter Notes is a cool app. I've created a Chronodex version for it:

This is a really useful format Patrick - can you do this in Midiouri TN size? or do you think there simply wouldnt be enough space?

thanks

Also, I just had to say: after I made the entire year for my ARC notebook and patrick shared it... I dropped and then instinctively caught a kitchen knife with my right hand and got 4 stitches in my right index finger. So I have not been able to use it since Jan. 1st, lol.

I'm a majorly confused on how to print out Coronado's version of Chronodex? I bought the Circa Notebook Junior to use with it, but the printing format seems to be different than Patrick's version. Can somebody explain how I am suppose to print this? I read this topic, but I didn't read any instructions on how to do this, unless there was something I missed.

I start to realize that space means very differently to different people, check out this crazy mod by a student, which has almost no space to write: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54052010@N05/6660250359/in/photostream

What's the layout you have in mind for a Chronodex GTD combo in Midori's Traveler's Notebook?

What? That's both hilarious and painful! Only happen in a movie hahahha, hope you get well soon to start using it. You are right, it is difficult to use Chronodex if your inDEX finger is not available.

If you don't have a printer which can do double sided printing, I suppose you can print odd pages first (1,3,5, 7...) and flip over the stack of pages and print the even pages. Do a test on a few pages first.

My printer can do the double sided printing, but Coronado's format prints out much smaller than the original Chronodex. The original Chronodex I can print out. Those instructions where self-explanatory, but Coronado's smaller format doesn't seem to come with instructions. Meanwhile, I now have the Circa Notebook Junior, so I am bound to a specific size. I guess what I am trying to ask is, do I print it out of letter size printer paper, and then cut the pages to the necessary size that I need?

Well, for my Staple ARC notebook, I cut paper down to half-letter first (5.5inx8.5in), and then print on them (double sided). Then I punch and insert into the notebook.

And actually, if you can wait until tomorrow, I might be able to make a PDF that will print letter that you then just cut in half. Pages will have to be 1,2,4,3,5,6,8,7, etc.

That would be great. :) Yes, I can wait until then, that will not be a problem.

Great! And anyone who uses that file, just print double sided on regular letter paper and then cut that paper in half :)

And no, the stitches are still in, just less painful, lol.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
