Cyber Monday From Pencity = Huge Savings

Thanks for the advice. I've also got a billing issue, which they claim doesn't exist, but does nonetheless. I ordered a lot of things but all they had left was some ink - that didn't stop them from charging my card for a bunch of pens anyway despite their claim that they "don't charge for anything until it ships". I don't begrudge them running out of stock, but I find it irritating that I lost the opportunity to take advantage of cyber Monday sales with other dealers. I don't plan on making any future purchases with Pen City.

Hi,

I had a problem with my shipment. I called Pen City at 706 745-7367. They corrected the billing problem. I received my order today by FEDEX. Packing was good and the customer service was fine. I will buy there again. The end result is excellent.

I ordered one Ballpen (to match an existing FP) and three bottles of ink. One bottle was out of stock, so I received a Lamy AlStar BP, a 4.5 and a 3 oz bottles of Noodler's shipped for $42. It was well packaged and shipping was timely.

We have to realize that as a group, we pounced on them like "white on rice," to say the least, and they could not possibly have estimated the volume that was generated. Considering the discount I did receive on what I did receive, I think gratitude should reign as the order of the day rather than petty griping. If we can't be anymore gracious than some of the childish posts on this thread, then we will never see such a sale again apart from Going Out Of Business sales. And who wants that?

Wanted to chime in and say that I am a satisfied (and probably lucky) customer. I ordered early Monday morning (order #8102), and I received my Lamy 2000 and Cross Townsend Medalist Thursday afternoon. Well packed and timely shipment especially given the substantial 40% discount. I thought Pen City would be overwhelmed by folks pouncing on the sale, and I just crossed my fingers. I was lucky to be in line early, I guess. I'm kicking myself for not ordering more.

Those who weren't as lucky have my sincerest empathy. It's frustrating to submit an order and either not know what you'll end up with or end up with nothing. Real time updates are more the norm these days, but given the big sale and small business involved, I'd cut them some slack. Better luck next time to those who didn't get what they wanted.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
