Cyber Monday From Pencity = Huge Savings

I have made a few purchases from Pencity.com and have always received good service and quick shipping. Their prices are normally competitive but today only they have a huge sale. Use the code CYBER (all caps) to receive 40% off your total order (minimum of $25). Shipping is reasonable.

Some examples are:

Lamy 2000 - $126.40 but today $75.84

Pilot VP - $132.80 but today $79.68

Pelikan M800 - $359.45 but today $215.67

Sailor 1911 - $240 but today $144 they even have the music nib.

Noodler's ink - $12.50 but today $7.50

I have no affiliation with them but just wanted to pass on the savings (I even asked them if it would be alright to post here). Of course I posted this after I placed my order though. Bottom line is you can get new pens for cheaper than some used ones and ink at a great price, but today 11-28 only.

Oh... didn't see the Delta!

I also succumbed to my third Lamy 2000 ... having had the other two meet different endings, decide I'll give this once much loved pen another go. Ordered a 'fine' nib and hope it arrives soon. Didn't have time to look at everything else as I didn't realise it was 40% off EVERYTHING until after I had checked out. Oh well... Great pricing on the Lamy 2000. I did think of asking Goulet to see whether he could match the price but decided I like him too much! I do wonder what the cost price is ... perhaps somewhere between the 50-60% off mark I would imagine.

In Rotation: MB 146 (EF), Noodler's Ahab bumblebee, Edison Pearl (F), Sailor ProGear (N-MF)

In storage: MB 149 (18k EF), TWSBI 540 (B), ST Dupont Olympio XL (EF), MB Dumas (B stub), Waterman Preface (ST), Edison Pearl (0.5mm CI), Noodler's Ahab clear, Pilot VP (M), Danitrio Densho (F), Aurora Optima (F), Lamy 2000 (F), Visconti Homo Sapiens (stub)

Currently still working but I do not know for how much longer. You can even take 40% off of their sale stuff and Demo stuff. The only issue I have is their stock/website is not real-time so I just hope everybody gets their goodies. That is why I ordered Sunday night.

Darn! I wish I had seen this last night I just tried a bottle of Noodlers, but the discount isn't working anymore.

That's sweet of you, but haha, no, unfortunately those are prices we wouldn't have been willing to match... with the discount, they were selling many of these items (like the Lamy 2000) below the wholesale cost.

I'm not really interested in losing money on every order... maybe I'm crazy, but it doesn't sound like a good strategy to stay in business in the long-term, but hey, whatever! :roflmho:

Thanks for posting this!

I was able to find Montblanc refills for cheap for my brother in laws Christmas present!

Also couldn't resist to try a Noodler's flex pen, just wish they had the Ahab instead of the skinnier flex pens.

My order of CP1 was just cancelled. Not happy.

Thank you for your order with PenCity. Due to a very high volume of Cyber Monday orders we are sold out of the item(s) you ordered. We have been filling orders according to the time we received them, first come, first served. We are unable to offer back orders from this sale.

We are sorry you didn't get what you wanted.

Sincerely,

Jackie

Me too - what a big rip off. That will be the last order I will every place with them. I'd rather pay more and buy from dealers like the Goulets and Isellpens.com that don't play these games. What a big waste of time.

My rational, logical and totally not impulse order has been picked up by Fedex. Feeling pretty lucky right now, that sucks for you guys! :(

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
