Desperate For Info On Wality 52D

Yes, when I'm ready, I may well be posting in the Classifieds, but at the moment, I'm just asking for general information. I was linking to the Wality (well, actually, the Airmail, since that is the only one I can find) site, and I noticed the pens they mention on there, specifically the model 52D fountain pen. (For reference, the products page of the site, and a photo of this very beautiful pen.) It is supposed to be a "plunger pump" filler. I never knew these existed. I want one! I need one!

Does anyone know anything about these? I am hoping they're still made. I e-mailed the company, but I've heard complaints that they often don't respond to this type of inquiry. Can anyone tell me anything about these? Does anyone have any idea how I could track one down? (Aside from the fact I'm not ready to post in the Classifieds, I fear that it is unlikely anyone with one of these to sell would be checking there. Even if it is a higher end Wality pen, Wality pens just do not go for that much.)

I bought one of the 69LFB 'all black' pens from him and it's a great pen, smooth and reliable. You might want to e-mail him first to make sure he has what you want in stock.

I have the 52D in my personal collection. it is an export only model not sold domestically. There are two models 52D and 52OD. D is with filigree cap and OD is an gold plated overlay. the filling system is piston.

In case you wish to write to me, pls use ONLY email by clicking here. I do not check PMs. Thank you.

I recently purchased some of the Wality 52P models directly from India, not the same as the fancier exterior 52D of course, but probably share the same piston filler mechanism, nib/feed etc. As a value proposition, I am very impressed. After very slight nib smoothing these are great writers.

The Walitys I've encountered are generally good pens, but the relative simplicity of the feeds can lead to dribbling at the end of a fill if using the pen somewhere that the air temperature is rather lower than that of your hand. I like 'em, but they can need watching.

It's mainly pens, just now....

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
