Cs Sandringham

The engraving on my Windsor is not in the same class, IMO, as what is pictured on the Sandringham.

I hope that the 15 'production models' are as good .... TBH, I was a bit disappointed in the Windsor I received, compared with the CS publicity pictures, which showed a pen with a resin-covered section.

However, it is still a favourite, for its 'feel' and the way it writes, after an Oxonian tweak.

If you make people think they're thinking, they'll love you; But if you really make them think, they'll hate you.

CRIMONY!! That's beautiful!!

I think Marcus Hunt's engraving is magnificent and I am also a big fan of his father's engraving too!

The Sandringham edition is sold out.

I love most CS pens, but these are not to my choice, they look like what one one side of the pond is called, "over the top" and the other side of the pond is called "over egging the pudding".

But lots of people will love them I suspect.

Sandringham (house) is such a mixture of different styles that I wonder what in particular on the pen is reflective of the house?

What about the others?

Which details are significant?

I am still waiting for CS to come out with another pen like the Belgravia - this time without the black areas. I would also welcome the return of a Churchill in ebonite or casein. I live in hope!

We are launching a new sterling silver pen that will be available in all sterling silver and another design with gold trim. The new engraving patterns are fantastic and will share the images as soon as we have completed the web pages and newsletters :) These pens were also displayed at the DC pen show and the feedback was positive.

Kind regards,

#9 coming soon

It might be expected that I'd like engraved silver pens. Never had one before! wink.gif

The green one is gorgeous, and must be mine. Eventually. When I'm not penniless and looking for a writing box.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
