Pelikan Future Demonstrator?

Solstice

Recommended Posts

I was just browsing around online to see what other colors the Future comes in, and was surprised to find a transparent model on the Pelikan site. Does anyone have this pen or know whether it's still being made?

The little info I was able to find suggests it was a special edition that was discontinued. But since it's still on the website, I thought there might be hope, and came here to ask the experts.

That's pretty much how I felt when I found it :) Really hoping someone out there knows details. I like the Future I already have, and want to mess around with the nib sizes before I think about trying one of the more expensive Pelikans.

I checked with my preferred Pelikan dealer, who checked with Chartpak, the U.S. distributor for Pelikan. They don't know anything about it.

Necroposting here....

Did it ever come out?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Oh, it came out alright ...

...and I've even found one still for sale on a German website...

...but their automated checkout system says that they refuse to ship it to the UK

To add insult to injury, they will ship other items over here, just (apparently) not this pen

As those of us who live in the European Union are supposed to be one big, happy family of empowered and informed consumers in the largest Single Market in the developed world, I want to ring them up to discuss their idiosyncratic stance on product shipping, and to point out to them that I will happily pay the costs of shipping the thing to Merrie England, but I don't speak German :bonk:

In short, I wants it I does (oh yess, my preciouss!) and it's available for sale, but I just can't have it :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

A Pelikan Future Demonstrator... Wow.. a pen that demonstrates the future.

That is taking German inventiveness to places I never thought it would go.

It sure would make buying lottery tickets a whole lot easier! :bunny01:

I wonder who is to blame for 'Poxy English monoglottism'? [ich spreche uebrigens deutsch!]

The Germans don't live in the same mono-glot state of ignorance as many of the British do. The chances are if you phone them up they will speak English.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
