Hi Malcolm,

We circulated our newsletter on Friday so just in case you have not received the information, Conway Stewart is making available for a limited time the model 100 in a choice of 33 resins. The pens are all converter cartridge with gold trim. Some of the finishes are limited in quantity and below are the colour options available.

Mary,

Do you also have photo's of the Model 100 in the other colours? A photo helps to make a choice from of the beautiful colours.

Thanks.

Azure is one of my all-time favorite CS colors. If I could afford to go for it at this point, I likely would get another Azure pen, but I can't this time around.

What does it mean that they are available to order until Sept. 30? If a color sells out before then, then you are out of luck? Or are all the colors available until then?

Given my familiarity with some of these colors, I believe most of them are discontinued, so subject to availability.

If a color sells out then it will be unavailable at least during this sale.

I might order one....but choosing a colour is very hard: I like: Classic black, Dartmoor, Bracket Brown, Bronze, Nebula and Walnut to name just a few.....it's going to be a tough one.

Amethyst was already sold out when read the newsletter on Saturday morning.

Malcolm and dannyboy,

I heartily agree with the Bronze as a perfect addition to anyone's collectio, especially mine! I am also intrigued by the Brown Whirl and Fresian. I seem to recall one or more FPNers posting pictures of the former in the Churchill model and/or raving about it. As to the latter, it reminds me of several interpretations of Cracked Ice by Stipula and Bexley.

If anyone has pictures of the Brown Whirl and/or Fresian, especially in a 100 model, I would really appreciate seeing them. Of course, I will check mvburke.com and search for them as well!

Thanks!

MikeW

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
