Oscar Braun Pens

Just wanted to share my recent experience with Oscar Braun Pen Co. I looked high and low for the cheapest price on my Vanishing Point Black Matte (bold). Now, some of you may take issue with trying to pay the cheapest price for a pen, but I think that's a whole separate topic. As far as my experience with Oscar Braun it was nothing short of exceptional. I emailed Pam at Oscar Braun and received a response within a couple hours as to price and how I could mail my payment. I mailed payment on a Monday and the pen was shipped on Wednesday and the pen was received on Friday. Throughout the whole process I received E-mails concerning the status of my payment and when the pen was shipped.

Love the pen and will do business again with Oscar Braun.

You'll find a legion of Pam Braun lovers on this site. She's the best AND she's a bona-fide USA bricks & mortar store with the best prices one could ask for.

Nor did Greg Minuskin at one time ....I recall sending him $285 in cash, by post from UK, for a nicely-italicised Bexley :yikes:

Unfortunately Pam Braun does not accept cards or Paypal, which pretty much makes it impossible for people not based in the US to buy from her. :crybaby:

You can always get a intenational money order in USD. But I would just try asking Pam nicely and see what happens.

Bought my first ever FP from Pam a few years ago, she talked with me via phone, was very paitent with the noob, no hard pressure sale. She had my pen shipped the same day I posted my check, definatly a super woman.

JELL-O, IT'S WHATS FOR DINNER!

I am in Canada and have always paid by US money order without any problems. If I am in the market for a recently released pen, I always check with Pam first before I buy. I and those in my pen club have bought many pens from Pam over the years and the service and prices have always been great!

I know it is redundant at this point, but I must also give kudos to Pam for pricing and customer service.

i saw this news, too. i think it is posted on PenTrace. This is horrible news :( Pam is one of the best in the business, and she ALWAYS has the lowest price. Not sure where I'll get my next VP now :( hopefully, i'll get one in the next month or so while she is still operating.

It is important to buy as many pens now as you can. Once the store closes, you will have to pay more elsewhwere. So, buying a lot this month and next month will save you money in the long run.

At least that is how I am trying to explain it to my spouse. :)

This is the excuse I'll use, too, when my black carbonesque VP and burgundy Knight come.

Ordered another pen from Oscar Braun. Wanted to get a Pilot Custom 74 but she only has fine left so instead bought a Lamy 2000 in a medium nib for the total price of $100. Unbelievable price and cant wait to get the Lamy.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
