I'm focusing my collection and want to sell a few pieces to fund a recent acquisition, so I'm not interested in trading. As usual, I'll be glad to answer questions, but first firm commitment through PM gets the pen. I will ship only to the USA or Canada and prices include USPS Priority Mail shipping in the USA. Shipping and insurance to Canada will be at cost. Payment through PayPal. No boxes or papers unless noted otherwise.

5. Waterman from 1940's, grey marbled, stub nib, very slight brassing of clip ball, excellent condition. I recently bought this one here from Christof and, although I really like the nib, the pen is too small for my hand. Here's the original sales post. I'm asking what I paid for it, $125.

6. Pelikan M600 18C BB nibs, new, never used, $100 each.

Are these really M600 nibs? They look like the M800 nibs being that they are 18c and aren't the older-style M600 look to them. Hmm...I learn something new every day. :)

Lovely BB nibs...I would get one if I could. Hope they sell quickly!

I just checked. They are smaller than the M800 nibs and they are the same size as the nib on the M625.

Hmm. I guess I can't help it.

3. Pelikan M400, black, 18C F nib, excellent condition, $150

I'll take the Pelikan m400. I happen to be looking for an upgrade to my school Safaris and I think this will be perfect.

Price drop on the pens:

1. Pelikan M625: $300 Body only, no nib: $200

2. Pelikan M800 old style: $250

3. SOLD

4. Pelikan 400NN: $125

5. Waterman: $115

If someone would rather have the M625 with one of the M600 BB nibs instead of the monotone M nib, I will sell it for the same price provided that a nib is still available.

Retrieved the Pelikan 400 from the post office today. It actually arrived yesterday, but since I wasn't expecting it I wasn't on hand to sign for it. That had to wait for today.

I inked it up with Noodler's red-black and wrote a test paragraph. 'Wow.'

I couldn't be happier.

Thanks, Esov!

P.S. What is that amazing nib you used on on the note in the package?

I'm very glad you liked the pen, Mike. The note was written with a celluloid MB 149 with an OBBB nib using J. Herbin Perle Noire ink on Rhodia paper.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
