Looking For A Pink Fp For Daughter's Graduation

The Write Pen

Recommended Posts

My daughter would like a pink fountain pen for her graduation next month. I am a vintage guy (pens and my age) and the only vintage I know that would fit the color is an Esterbrook purse pen and it's a little small for her. Does anyone have any suggestion of moderns to fit the bill?

Regards,

danny

hi, danny--my daughter asked for exactly the same thing (a pink FP) and i gave her a pink lamy safari. she was very happy with it ;) not bad for about $35:

+1

This was my first FP back August of last year... and boy did the hobby snowball from there. I do believe there are pink Parker Urbans as well. The Safari might be a good choice, simply because if she needs to tweak the nib size, she is only $10 or so away from a new size, rather than buying a new pen all together.

+1 on the Lamy Safari. Safari is one of my favorite pens. The nibs are interchangeable so it makes it pretty versatile.

Sheaffer Prelude in Radiant Magenta/Nickel or Rose/Nickel both look pink to me. I really like my Prelude. Not an overly large pen (smaller than the Safari) but it has a little more weight to it.

If you want something a little more high-end, Aurora has Talentum Finesse in pink.

Can't believe she is graduating. Where does the time go?

The pilot prera also comes in pink at around 40$, so that'd be in the range of the safari.

Some more expensive pens might be a sailor sapporo or maybe a pilot vanishing point, which I think also come in pink. Both of those would be more around 150-200$, I believe.

I'm not sure about the sizes of any of those pens, but hopefully they give you some ideas.

Currently using: pelikan 320 + sheaffer balance

Thanks,

Have you Googled? pink fountain pen

I love Google and got some interesting results, I like this one for looks. You know her better than us, will she want loud, bright, flashy pink or classy pink?

I like this one for classy pink.

For overstated, flashy, workhorse pink -- without a doubt that's Lamy.

The recently launched small ruby-red Pelikan M300 is not exactly pink, but is hard to believe that she wouldn't love that beauty ...

I'm a user, baby.

We love what we do not possess. Plato, probably about pens.

i believe you can easily get a Sailor, though it can be expensive. however, if you want a FP with a price range that she won't have to worry about having the pen accidently dropped or scratched, may i suggest a Pilot (pink-red Prera) or TWSBI (pink Diamond 530 demonstrator). they are affordable but look nice and come with great nib performance.

Not sure if it's past the date, but the Waterman Hemisphere comes in pink and is fairly nice.

Sample Request: I really really want to try Diamine Steel Blue. I will trade you samples!

I've decided to build her one from Ariel Kullock's pearly pink P51 barrel and shell stock. Thanks for all the help.
