Wanna come to Montreal?

Bonjour to all,

I decided to start working on organizing a pen show that would be held in Montreal, Quebec.

Just want to know what would be the interest for a pen show in my amazing city.

I don't know when this pen show would be held, what is the best time of the year for a pen show?

I also started working on a basic website, it's just a start since I bought the website about an hour ago.

http://www.montrealpenshow.com

I'll look forward for your comments and I'll keep you posted on my project.

Cheers,

Cool idea.

I have no idea how hard it is to organize such a show but Montreal is certainly close enough for me to attend. I've never seen Montreal either and I've always wanted to. It would be the perfect excuse to go. :)

If there will be a pen show in Montreal it will be a good excuse for me to go there.

I never been to Montreal and it is only few hours of drive from Toronto my beloved city so you can count on me to be there.

Andy,

Winter is out of question! It's brutal and cold, I love it but not everybody share my passion for the cold.

I was thinking about spring or summer since I want "out of towners" to really enjoy the visit to Montreal.

I've started looking for the perfect place, it's not easy but it's a fun project that takes my mind off my PhD! I've organized all kind of events, but it's my first pen show.

A friend of mine will work on the web site, so I will have a real website online really soon.

Thank you for your positive responses :)

I have always wanted to go to Montreal (and always wanted to go to a pen show!), so with enough notice to save my pennies, I would attend such a show.

Isn't sanity really a one-trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy . . . ooh hoo hoo hoo! . . . the sky's the limit!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
