Lamy 2000 Fine And Tuff Writer Tactical Pen Fs

As it always goes, I have found something I just have to have... AGAIN! So, I am going to move a couple of pieces that I don't use...

First, the Lamy 2000 Fine is about 3 months old and was inked once with Noodler's Legal Lapis. The nib creep was a little more than I bargained for and it left a little residue in the cap (seen in pics). The pen has been thoroughly cleaned, flushed, and has been in storage for a few weeks. It presents as new when capped or posted with no scratches or blemishes on the barrel, section, hood, nib, cap, etc. The only indication it was ever inked is the residue in the cap (and there's not much of that). A QTip probably cleans that, but I keep forgetting to bring one to work. Great F nib that writes a super-smooth, wet M line with the nib on-center. A little bit of tooth if you rotate the nib slightly off center which is how I used it as I like the feedback. Say $85 shipped CONUS on the Lamy. ON HOLD

The Tuff Writer Tactical Pen is one of those things that I got just for the novelty of having it. It actually ended up being a pretty good writer despite the finger grooves that make it appear unwieldy. Uses Fisher, Parker, other similar refills and comes with one each in blue and black (Fisher refills). The finish is more matte on one side of the pen than the other. I am not sure if this is from being in storage and one side being exposed to the air and the other not, or if some furniture polish may have gotten on it and done this. Anyway, it is not really noticeable unless you are looking for it and i tried to depict it in the pics, but it is hard to tell. you will note some finish wear on the spring steel clip and at the edge of the finger grooves. Anyway, this is the black, sanitized (no markings of any kind - super stealthy ninja model, I guess) version with the finger grooves rather than knurling. I think this was called the EDC version or something like that back when it was new. Technical details

Thanks for the replies. Lamy is on hold for member Deadmongoose. Tuff Writer still available. Make an offer if you like it.

Thanks for the inquiries. I wanted to let everyone know that both pens were sold. The Lamy went to a new FPN'er and the Tuff Writer was sold locally. Thanks to all who inquired and sent PM's. And thanks to FPN for the opportunity to showcase these products to an interested audience.

Thanks,

  • 2 weeks later...

My LAMY arrived today; packaging was excellent, in fact it took me a good 15mins to get inside!

Communication and dispatch time were also great so thank you very much.

Oh, and what a beautiful pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
