Wtt: Some Pens

I have these pens to trade, maybe a few others:

(I'd be happy to take pictures of any of these and email them to you.)

Picasso in silver with a F/M stubbish nib. converter included.

Noodler's piston filler in teal with a vintage nib with some flexibility

Lamy Al-Star in aluminum with a B nib (?, I think. I'll have to check that again.)

Parker 51 in teal blue (?) with 14k M nib, maybe another 51

Parker 45 in green with new M nib

Pilot Vanishing Point in black carbonesque with 18k M nib (still thinking on this one, but if I get the right trade offer...)

Pelikan M600 nib only, two-tone, 14C, modified by John Mottishaw to Fine Cursive Italic, needs some adjustment/ alignment

Pelikan M600 old-style (size of modern M400, piston needs lubed or barrel cleaned out, does work though) in green-stripe with an 18C B nib that has been ground to stub/ cursive italic (needs some adjustment/ alignment)

What I'd like:

Hmm...good question. :) These are just ideas...suggest whatever you want and we'll see. I prefer medium and broader nibs, enjoy stubs, cursive and crisp italics, and flexible nibs. I would also consider a fine or extra fine if the nib has a lot of flexibility to it, or if it's on a pen that the nibs are interchangeable). And I love piston fillers and larger pens.

-Bexley Simplicity II (cherry haze), Classique

-Geha or Soennecken

-other vintage German piston filler

-Pelikan

-Pelikan gold nib for 140, M400, M600, M800

-Lamy 2000 BB or 27(n), 99, 37n, etc with B or BB nib

-Edison Nouveau Premiere, Hudson, etc.

-14k 1.1mm italic nib (from thegoldennib.com to use in TWSBI)

-Rosetta Coronado (black with rhodium trim)

Of course, I'd really love a Pelikan M800, M1000 or a Visconti Homo Sapiens. Hee hee! :) If you can find enough that you want to add up to the trade value for one of those between my pens and inks, we'll talk.

Anyway, just PM me here on FPN or email me at ____________@triad.rr.com (fill in blank with FPN username) with any ideas, trade offers, etc. Preferably in the CONUS, but not a definite.

Replied to all by PM's. :)

I think that I forgot to mention what I was interested in for lower end trades. I'd take another TWSBI or other piston filler model. Hmm...not sure what else. If you have ideas, just PM me.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
