Wahl Eversharp Forum?

From what I have seen, when a Wahl-Eversharp post comes along there has always been a lively discussion with a good number of Wahl-Eversharp interested people getting involved. So I volunteered to moderate a list that would be devoted to all things that focus on this great brand among the vintage "Big Four". The proposed Wahl-Eversharp forum will have a wealth of information in one place so you don't have to go searching for the Wahl-Eversharp "needle in a haystack" on the larger list(s). And it will be a great way to meet people of similar interests and do a little trading, too.

The poll has been running for a couple of days now, and I have been watching the results. I notice that with 244 views only 27 people have voted one way or the other (BTW 85% in favor so far) Might this small participation be that all the Vintage Folks are busy in Ohio (wish I was there this year) Or, is it that for many, Wahl-Eversharp is not their thing right now? Even if this is so, wouldn't it be a good idea to set up a focused repository of Wahl-Eversharp information located on FPN that you or others can turn to If and WHEN you do get more interested in this great brand.

Don't mean to be TOO pushy, but if you think this is a good idea, why not go to "Community Feedback" and vote in favor of the Wahl-Eversharp forum.

Thanks

I don't have any Wahl or Eversharp or Wahl-Eversharp FP'sbut I voted yes anyway figuring that if it helps folks enjoy their pens more that is fine with me.

My guess is that most of us use FPN through the new posts feature, so what forum something is in doesn't matter very much.

I hope the "authorities" go forward on this, anyway.

I'm for it, too. They have such smooth nibs and remain remarkably affordable. It will be good to have a place to learn more about them.

Thanks for offering to for offering to moderate, Syd. :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
