Hey Everyone,

Thought I share this with all of you. These last 18 months have been very hard for me. If it were not for my pens, the few I still have 6 in all, I would have gone insane! I am sitting in a delivery room wating for my son to be born! I already have a pen for him in a little case in his crib back home. I found him a 1942, Parker Duofold, very special day and pen for me because today would have been my late dad's birthday and 1942 was the year he was born. So none the less, my sons name will be Angelo Santinno Bedolla. He is due with in the next couple of hours!

Cheers,

You have my best thought headed your way in the hope that the delivery goes smoothly and that mom and the wee bairn are both okay.

If I would have had a son he would have been named after my much beloved grandfather but the woman drew the line when I suggested that our daughter be named Henning instead.

Well, let me be the second to congratulate you on the birth of your son, and the fact that he is starting out on the right foot with his own vintage Parker Duofold. :)

I remember the excitement of the moment myself Angelo - rejoice in it - a beginning of a whole new life for the three of you.

All my best

Gerry

Hey Angelo, since this is where new members are to be introduced, perhaps you should sign him up today. You might like to post for him on occasion, until he is able to post for himself, and it will be neat to see his birthdays arrive every year. :D

Hi Angelo,

Congratulations! I hope he has arrived by now, and that you all three are doing well!

I do like your choice of pen for him too, considering the significance it has for you, and will have for your son when he gets a little older.

Warmest regards, Wim

Sign up the little guy, AngeloB!

Hope everything went well with the baby's delivery and that mother and son are doing well...oh, and the father too!

Sorry to hear that the last year or two have been such rough ones (you alluded to a huge pen sell-off in an earlier post--ouch!) but I hope that the coming years bring you & your family much happiness :)

That pen sounds like a great gift; what a thoughtful present.

What a beautiful baby, Kurt! The little guy is a quick learner---I can see he's got a blue bulb syringe handy for flushing out old ink from nib units

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
