Looking for information on The 'Swan' Pen

Hi!

 

I'm looking for information on a pen I won as part of an auction lot. It looks quite old (as does the box it came in, with instructions) - it is appears to be black rubber. It is filled with an eye-dropper. There are simply two small rubber/plastic pieces that hold the nib slips between.

 

On the pen there is a lovely etching of a swan in water with the word 'trademark' underneath.

 

The wording on the pen reads:

 

The 'Swan' Pen (their quotes)

Mabie Todd & Co Ltd

Made in England

 

I'd love any information about this pen - or suggestion as to where to look to find the information I'm looking for.

 

I've attached a photo, but I'm afraid it's not very good. I can try and take a better photograph if that will help.

Have you looked at David Nishimura's site? Some of the eyedroppers look similar to your pen. Maybe you can ask him, but he hasn't replied about my Mabie Todd dip pen yet. I'm guessing your pen is from the teens..?

Some of those look VERY much like my pen! It wasn't until I saw the photos and then looked more closely at my pen that I realised there was more writing on it. I'll have to wait until I get into work (where my magnifying glass is) before I can read what it says, however.
