Montblanc Solitaire Geometric Dimensions

Just ordered a Geometric Dimension from MB Birmingham!!!

Say it and just couldn't resist! Gorgeous! :cloud9:

According to the lady there, since it is still such a new model, the UK boutiques (except one London boutique, being the largest store) only carry one unit each.

I found a small scratch on the ink window which couldn't be removed so she has ordered one in from Hamburg for me!

Should arrive Tuesday / Wednesday.

Cant wait!

And also since this is the 12th pen bought from there my myself (either for myself or immediate family) I was offered a Montblanc Watch Travel Case. They apparently cannot be bought at retail, they are just gifts for frequent customers. I was informed that if these were sold, they would be priced at £250. Nice! The MB model number for this case is 105788, which I can't find anywhere on the internet. So I believe her.

YAY!

:cloud9:

OP, you should be employed by MB as a referrals manager or something of the sort: if it wasn't for this post I wouldn't have spent nearly as much. I was originally going to buy a 149 this weekend!

I've just bought this pen from FPH and am awaiting delivery. I've loved it ever since first seeing it in Harrods!

Do any of you know if Harrods still carries the large version of this pen? It doesn't show on Harrods Web site, but then what does? :-) Thanks!

At first I thought the pen was too bling to me, but it reminds me Mr. I.M.Pei's work. The great geometric architecture.

+1 For me too it is a very architecturally inspired design.

Reminds me of Geodesic Dome structure created by Buckminster Fuller.

Life is like Chinatown signage, its cluttering, confusing but everything that you need is there, just have to look harder....

Just received mine yesterday, a b-day present from my wife. I'm testing out and enjoying it first before sending it out for nib exchange. I'm contemplating between BB or OBB.

What is the barrel and cap material? I assume this is an 18k gold plate?

Beautiful piece.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
