I have a Hero 100 on order to arrive soon.

What is the dif of Hero 100 and 1000? the Hero 100 has 14k nib and 1000 only 10k nib. But the 1000 is more expensive?

Anyone have both and an opinion?

Thanks!

I have both the 100 & 1000. The difference is that the 1000 is a lot wider than the 100 and a lot better well made. I was told that the 1000 is the same size as 100 Glorious. The quality of plastic is a lot thicker on the 1000 and seems more scratch resistant. The 1000 is also heavier than the 100. The cap on the 1000 fits a lot more securely and looks a lot nicer than the 100.

It terms of nibs; both pens wrote very well. The 1000 has a bigger point like M-F while 100 is strictly F. I also could disassemble the 1000 nib assembly but I couldn't on the 100. The presentation box is also nicer on the 1000.

I think of my FPs as my children.

Received my Hero 1000 today! Wow the Box is huge as well.

The Pen is a bit larger, the nib writes smoother, just a tad wider the 100 if fine, the 1000 is like fine-med. I think the 1000 is now my go-to pen.

I purchased a new Hero 1000 on May 21 which arrived on June 9. I cleaned it then loaded it up with Baystate Blue.

Wow. Love this pen already. No contest in comparison to the 616......the 1000 wins by a longshot. Much better contruction and beautifully smooth nib.

I own a jumbo 616 and a Hero 100. The 100 is too fine for me. How does the 1000 compare to the 616, same width? Finer? Broader?

Sorry to but in to the thread, but I have also been looking into a Hero too. How does the 1000 pen compare to the 100 glorious.

I'm a bit late to this thread but I wanted to put my 2¢ worth in. I have a Glorious and the quality isn't what I expected. The threads between the section and the barrel don't thread correctly and the barrel won't stay tight. I'm really sorry I purchased a Glorious and don't recommend the pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
