Second Row x 1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find the clear body with coloured innards more original/interesting than coloured plastic (and as a bonus you can see the colour of the ink clearly).

I'll take the whole second row... with stub nibs ;)

Enough of this chocolaty goodness, we've got work to do.

This line with that anodised alu doesn't really excite me but that's just my opinion.

I would be very interested in opaque black - preferably with some sort of an ink window.

Oh yes, and a B nib please................... :P

The upper, full colour, ones, for me, definitely.

I am sceptical of aluminium grips, like other people, but I'm prepared to give them a try. Could it have a coloured soft plastic sheath, maybe? That would be nicer for fingers.

As far as the grips go, just think of a lamy al star. that feels good. Sure the grip is plastic, but the barrel and cap feel good, don't they? i'd use it with the aluminum grip.

A lot of aluminum products have a grippy feeling (I'm thinking Maglite), but I have also felt slippery aluminum. As long as Speedy is aware of the issue, I am guessing this will work out fine.

I'm actually very excited about this pen after having gotten my last two (red and blue) 530s today. They have me thinking about selling virtually all my other pens and getting a horde of these for my use.

I much prefer the non tinted types. Mainly because they would look excellent filled with ink. The red and the blue ones would allow me to make my "pen of the damned" and "pen of the light" set.

The above is MY opinion. Would you expect it to be from someone else?

I like both sets  , but if I have to choose, I'd probably go with the lower set, with the clear barrels. I only like particular colors of the top set, but I can go with almost any color on the lower set. Thus, I'd be more tempted to collect all colors of the lower set than the upper set (not that I can afford to ). But between the same colors from each set that I do like, it's certainty a tough call!

Speedy, I have to say, that second row of non tinted pens with anodized grip and piston is BEAUTIFUL! With the nontinted barrel, I will still be able to see the colour of the ink, but the pen is 'funned-up' a notch from the 530. I would most certainly but the blue and the green in that row.

I have to ask (knowing full well the dangers of the following question)...

Is there a timeline on the 550?

Enough of this chocolaty goodness, we've got work to do.

I think we know the Bock nibs and more nib choices come next for the 530, after the current batch of pens on eBay are sold out apparently. I would guess that it will at the bare minimum be after that, but it looks to me like they have a lot of the work done on these. I would speculate these look closer to being in production than the vacuum filler.

Definitely the second row!And it would be jnice to have the choice of different color pistons, or even to have the pen offered with the complete set of pistons.

I actually prefer the second row of pens more. And I like the colours in this order: purple, blue, green, red, clear/grey, orange.

Heck, I'd like one of each, with different nibs fitted into each one  Will stubs or italics ever be available?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
