I would go for the clear demonstrator, black piston, silver.rings.

I would also not like metal grip as mentioned by others above.

Enjoy your pens

Have a nice day

There you have it. If you want to wait for the latest in TWSBI piston filler in this size, something different is on the way. It just isn't the anodized aluminum concept right at the moment at least.

Any info on what the lastest TWSBI piston filler is or when we might expect it, or just a hunch? I am really curious as I just sold my 540 Demo to a friend's father who fell in love with it. It was easier to do it that way (he lives in Israel), than have him pay for shipping, which would've been pricey. If there's something new coming sooner than later, I'll hold off.

We've seen photos and descriptions of what is happening with the redesign from the TWSBI presence on Facebook, but I have not seen any sort of time line on when it will be happening.

Facebook, ahhhh. That makes sense. I'll have to check it out.

I like all of them but my preference is for the pens in the first row simply because I like LOTS of colour in my pens. But they're all GORGEOUS.

And really, come on Speedy, you make me laugh. They are all beautiful. You can't expect people to choose one over another when each one is a masterpiece of color and design. That's like choosing between the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. I like them all and would buy all of them if I had that kind of money. There simply isn't a mediocre one in the bunch. So, congratulations again! Watching you guys work out your company's products is like being present when the Wright brothers were building the airplane. It's so exciting to watch something new and beautiful and well executed come into being.

You guys are artists as well as design geniuses. I have a blue 540 and the ROC 100, both with stubs, and I use them almost as much as I use my Eddies. And that's saying a LOT!

Yeah...I love the second row...but a D550 with gel grip... :puddle: that'd be something!

I still would prefer the MINI to be without an aluminum grip though (and have an all-black tinted model too!)

  • 1 month later...

Second Row x 1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find the clear body with coloured innards more original/interesting than coloured plastic (and as a bonus you can see the colour of the ink clearly).

I'll take the whole second row... with stub nibs ;)

This please. I much prefer the second row with a splash of colour. Reminds me of the Pilot Prera demonstrators. Colour wise, I don't have a preference of order but the green's my favourite. Possibly followed by blue. I'd like to see a hot pink though...

I like to collect the cheap, cheerful and colourful!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
