I find it quite humorous that your are taking such great pictures while stuck in traffic. A new use for otherwise wasted time!

Especially with how good your pictures are. Do you normally carry around that wide of a selection of pens, or were you transporting them somewhere, and happened to get caught in traffic?

Keep up the good work, whether it is in stop-and-go traffic or not!

As you can see in my other photo topics, I am everyday on the road and normally have a dozen or so FPs in my jacket inner pockets or PC bag (most often I take more time to choose the pens than the tie).

I like to keep an eye for unsual photographic situations, and this was definetely unusual.

In case you are wondering, yes, my temporary neighbours were looking at me strange...

Excellent! No bottle of ink? Looks like it would fit snugly in the crease of the hat. :happyberet:

Talking about fountain pens is like dancing about architecture.

I have to say this is the genuine fountain pen enthusiast...goes on the road all day, probably does more driving than writing, but still he has 15-20 pens inside his jacket (by the way, i would never trust myself to carry such beautiful pens simply in my pockets)! On top of that, finds himself in a road block and what does he do? Starts taking pictures of the pens...i can only imagine the faces of the drivers close to you, enrico...:))

I really admire you. I was once taking photos of one of my fountain pens, in my car, but i was in a not so crowded area and everytime a person walked by the car i would hide the camera so they don`t think i`m some kind of freak. What you did on the highway shows how much you love fp`s and i wish i was around you to give you a big !

the leather gloves, as the prop - intriguing.

Wonderful as usual..

was worrried about you through this wholes series, and kept checking brake lights

:hmm1: did the shots with brake lights far in the distance suggest the pens personal value? or complexity of the shot.

Traffic was not completely stopped (let's say 50km in 2,5 hours), so the pics were taken "on the move".

No bumpers have been endangered/damaged during this photo session.

What a remarkable thing to do. It shows a man can relax even in a stressy situation like a traffic jam  .

Good comment by Ispriluc by the way :happyberet:

Food,, clothing, books and dentistry, can wait till they are married. Stick with the ones as they do not talk back!

Anyone like Ray Bradbury? Please read "The Laurel and Hardy Love Affair" if you have about 12 minutes.

You will not forget this wonderful gem that is largely obscure and sadly, forgotten. http://bit.ly/1DZtL4g

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
