I have never seen such a pen and I would say it's a fake.

How would Nazi Germany, with all its might in 1939, imprint a pen with "Germany 1939"? It would have imprinted "Deutschland" instead of "Germany". It just doesn't make sense to imprint in English :roflmho:

Pay no mind to those ranting naysayers! They simply are envious of your discerning mind and ability to spot rare and valuable opportunities! Now I'd love to have a chat with you about some prime land in Florida, just slightly submerged or, if you are game, a rare and wonderful bridge in Brooklyn that might appeal to a man of your means...

As I recall a Nazi Montblanc came up at auction in London (Hampstead) during the summer. It went for good money (£300+ I think), and if I recall correctly the swazika logo was actually where the white star currently sits on a rather flat topped tassie.

 

Where in Hampstead do they have pen auctions (or auctions for that matter)? I'm from Hampstead y'see, and that's something new to me...

I have been to that market, its great! Perused it for an hour I think. All of the Nazi and probably most of the Communist memorabilia is utterly fake though... This pen is definitely more fake Nazi memorabilia (just look at the poor quality, and as someone else pointed out "Germany").

Which means that either Montblance decided to make some fake Nazi stuff (IMAGINE THAT :roflmho: )- their next marketing direction perhaps? Or, it's an awfully grotesque fake.

PENS ARE HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, DON'T START!

I don't think they would have produced that pen in 1946, much less 1939.

Is this the pen in question? - a 139 that went for £330 or so...

 

Ahh - just noted the pen that was talked about higher up the thread - sorry! Same price point and both nazi related but different!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
