Hemingway FP -- brand new, in box, bonus leather "cigar" pen case, $600.

Of course... that was the year it was issued, and I was the first owner, and at the time, it was the most I'd ever spent for a single pen. I had no idea that pens could appreciate in value.

My best Montblanc bargain was a vintage 146 with an 18C BB nib for 98 Euros, about $134.00. Beautiful pen, great nib!
Also a Montblanc Siena 3 pen case for $53.00.
In both cases the Sellers, bless them, had duplicate items for sale with almost identical photos.

Still, nowhere near as wonderful as a Hemingway for $600.00!

Agatha Christie FP for $280 ... the store in Washington DC
had a pile of boxes, shipped back from Asia, where the snake
motif, for cultural reasons, hadn't been too popular. MB created
another version for Asia featuring a dragon clip.

I love the snake, and the pen's simple and historic design.
It remains my favorite MB, and the pen I'd take to that desert
island (along with a 20-gallon drum of Heart of Darkness).

Later got the mechanical pencil for $150.

Looking over the above posts, it's good to know that incredible
bargains are still out there...

New 146 fine Nib for $380.

That's a fantastic deal, but you already told us yesterday. Unless you mean to tell us you bought a second one! :)
