Thanks Ghost Plane. It seemed to have that Vertigo look in the photo.

The far right one is a Hitchcock in my photo.

The 146 and 149 in Rosegold really make the difference!

This is what I got over the past couple of weeks, including the 10 pen case.

Big 1906 fan here, those are all great though! May I ask, where did you find that pen case?

Hey RS,

Got the box from Tay (Pensinasia)... not sure if he has any left. Fits even larger pens like the Hitchcock and 149 without any problems.

Regards,

Alan

For those of us who are relative newcomers to the Mont Blanc world, can somebody please identify these pens?

Well that's going to be hard to follow but, I'll make a try at a first post. I've been reading posts here a while and thought I'd contribute. I have been collecting pens here and there and posting pics on a popular watch forum for a bit. My latest MB is the Masters for Meisterstuck Porcelain (Meissen) in white. Cheers, RS

Robert, very elegant and beautiful pen. Handled it once and still remember the great feel of holding it. Congratulations!

Life is like Chinatown signage, its cluttering, confusing but everything that you need is there, just have to look harder....

After a few years of looking and dreaming- no thanks to Sean!

Finally found the perfect 149 demo for me.

Late 80's likely with plastic feed and nib like my Hemingway.

It is a dream come true- i will post a slideshow in Sean's demo thread I think

Another latest addition.. I thought I would never see the MST 149 Unicef 2004 Andree Putman's edition anymore. I love the big black lacquered wooden casing and in particular to the torpedo shape casing for the pen alone.. And the whole presentation will be great for the display in the cabinet.. :cloud9:

Now if I can get my hands to Helmut Jahn's edition (and there goes my other limb).. :gaah:

I knew the Boheme was big but I didn't realise it was nearly the size of a 149 :yikes:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
