Fantastic review and thanks for showing me another previously unknown pen. She's a beauty!

Fountain pens aren't a collection, it's an insatiable obsession!

Great review! I agree with you re: the lighter colored inks in this pen: I love to watch the ink sloshing around, and the lighter colors are more visible. I'm going to have to try Larmes de Cassis; I love that ink, but I never thought to put it in my Ripple!

Thank you so much.

I love this ink too (obviously :headsmack: ), and it does well in deminstrators and being Herbin I know I'll get most of it out on flushing.

Hey man!!!

Great review, I love the photos and the ink combination!

One question, how does it look the ink dancing in the pen :puddle: :puddle: :puddle: :puddle: Have you tried turquoise ink with it :puddle: :puddle: :puddle:

Thank you very much kind sir!

I love the ink in this pen- it has such a large chamber and with the blind cap unscrewed the ink sloshes all through the pen to the ink window.

Next ink Turquoise! Just need to figure out which one as I have a few- Noodlers, Omas, Herbin or Visconti!!

Thank you. I think it is not for everyone but I adore mine.

I've seen all the Ripple colours, and although I lusted after the blue one for a long time, this silver one took over lead spot in my heart the moment it came out. But I'm just too poor to justify the cost. Booooooooooooooooooooooo.

May I ask how much you paid for it, or is that poor manners? I'm still kind of delurking so I don't know the protocol here yet. My apologies!

I love this silver one- as far as I know these have all been sold.

I think Bry still has a black one on ebay- he may be amenable to an offer.

The price was in the 1-2K range- sorry can't be more specific..

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
