After reading couple of posts here and seeing pics of Noodler's Baystate Blue ink, I can't help but feel like trying it :)

Is there any place in India where we can get Noodler's Baystate Blue ink?

Regards,

Yogi

There are two types of fools in the world. Those who give advice and those who do not take it. I propose to belong to first category and I wish you will not belong to the second ;)

I don't know, but having read some of the stories about it, I'd be afraid it would be classified as a munition and subject to arms export restrictions.

Seriously, check with any of the retailers online and see if they ship internationally.

I'm sending a mail to Nathan requesting him to see if he can find a willing distributor for India.

If a substantial number of people do so perhaps he might consider it.

So far, this seems the best way to get the Ink. The online sites I have seen like snap deal are Way to expensive and ordering from the US is really very expensive as far as shipping costs go...

This is a good idea, I had worked the other way and asked a Pen and Ink stockist to contact Nathan for dealership.

Hi,

Yes. Few of Noodlers inks are available in India on Rediff.com.

http://shopping.rediff.com/product/noodler-quot-s-baystate-fountain-blue-pen-ink/13435606?sc_cid=shopping_inhomesrch|search_noodlers%20inks

I have ordered and used BSB and Bulletproof black from them.

But if you are desperate for heart of darkness, the best guaranteed way is to ask some friend to get it or order from Amazon.com ( yes. It will be expensive.)

But I have ordered Apachi Sunset from Amazon USA , as I was dying to use it. It came in 10 days, but you have to submit KYC with the courier service for CUSTOM clearance.

So its upto you to decide.

Hi, you are in for luck.

Just few days back, its avaible on Amazon.in

http://www.amazon.in/Noodlers-Ink-4-5Oz-Heart-Darkness/dp/B0015VB4EE/ref=pd_sim_229_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=51IAQqraEaL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&psc=1&refRID=1QNR5ZNQEDMG61ZZ1DJ3

Actually I bought it from GouletPen company (USA) through FedEx

Its a gorgeous black color. Just buy it.

Hope you get the oroginal one. I bought Noodlers Black from Rediff.com for 1800/-. But I think it was diluted and didint go well in any of my pen. Thats why ordered for USA.

Anyway you can give it a try.

Vikas

Actually nearly all Noodlers Inks are available through "Shop Your World" on Amazon.in.

But none of them for cash on delivery.

Hi Amarjit,

thanks for your reply.

I ordered following items from Goulet pen company

1 - Noodlers Heart of darkness 4.5Oz bottle ( came with free Charlie pen, unfortunately that charlie blobs out ink while writing)

2 - Noodlers Ahab Flex pen - Clear demonstrator. - I have converted it to eyedropper and using it. Very nice flex for a novice FP lover going into Calligraphy world.

3 - Goulet Pen company - Total Maintenance kit - as I did not find so many things together at one place anywhere in India

4 - Pilot con-20 convertor - as we may not get original in India. ( As a back-up for my Pilot Metro & vanishing point)

5 - Platinum Preppy O - rings so that I can convert any preppy into eyedropper.

Now the interesting part is, Goulet has some issues with their FexEd international shipping rates. For me it showed , around $130 only for shipping. But when I bought it , they refunded me the extra money back to my credit card, as the actual cost was # 35 only.

So in short, all the above things with FedEx shipping costed me 10k.( including all)

One important thing is one must register kyc with FedEx for quick delivery. As I had done that, I received the pack in 1 week itself.

Also I have ordered few things from jetpens USA as few things are not available with the Goulet.

Thanks for the information. I wished to buy one bottle of noodler's ink but seeing the cost of shipping alongwith custom duty, did not find it feasible to buy it. Hoping somebody from india start a group buy for noodlers ink so that we can split the total cost and make it affordable to have.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
