Hi Loy

Rather than chance your inbox, I'll say my thanks here. The Monte Rosa with an EF nib arrived today(+1 for speedy!). I've filled it and had a bit of play. I am a fan! This is a super little pen with a lovely smooth (creamy rather than glassy (where a Sailor nib is glassy)). The EF is great nib for maths. It writes about the same width as my Sailor 1911 fine nib but has a little flex so with some gentle pressure, I can make things like greek letters, symbols and integral signs look a bit special (for my own satisfaction of course).

Thanks again.

Jonathan

Thanks, Johathan, for your nice comments. I am glad that you like the pen. It is always good to know that this nice little pen has found another loving owner. :)

Just a little update: 2 out of 4 pieces of Monte Rosa 042G model with EF nib is now on hold. :)

Tried to PM, but box was full each time I tried. Please put me down for 1 of the NOS extra fine gold nibs Monte Rosa 042g. PM me or e-mail me instructions for your pay pal. How long does shipping typically take to the United States?

Thanks

One of my buyers had purchased one Monte Rosa 042G FP with EF nib earlier. However, the nib is too fine to his likings and hence he would like to sell it away. The pen has only been dipped and has been flushed clean. Price for this dipped Monte Rosa 042G FP with EF nib is USD115 with registered shipping inclusive. Interested party, please drop me a PM. :)

Other pens available for sale:

Pelikan : Keep a watchout here, M805 FPs, M400 and M405 FPs,

I received my EF Monte Rosa few days ago. Great pen, pristine conditions, flex nib and great customer service! I normally do not like EF nibs, but this one can go from EF to B, I would say, and it is very smooth. I really enjoy my MR.

Can't tell from the pictures but do these have the white snowflake on the cap?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
