was it a REAL Italian restaurant?

I think they are hard to find over there.... :crybaby:

I can see why you love Italian pens so much

Now there's some baseless slander! I'm totally open to cricizing the US on any point, but only if the facts supported it. And it's rather cheeky to hear this from an Aussie!

as far as the name is concerned, what about a simple "Marmo venato" [veined marble]? Very banal, but it describes the colour quite well...

Or maybe "Alabastro venato" [veined alabaster], which sounds a little bit more exotic and fascinating? ;)

"Marmo venato" ... I love it. That was easy for me. Done! Thats the name! If you want one, you can have one at my cost for coming up with the name!

Thanks!

Bry

:D Glad that you liked it! So you mean that I can have one for free? :roflmho:

Haha! I would be the best business man if I was getting these for free...

Cheers!

Hey Bry the have you ever considered having a pen made but with MB instead of itallian makers (well, leaving Edison aside)? A chatterley MB would be :puddle: I know silver trim, MOP, and huge nibs  .

They would never do one for me. Im small time, and MB would not even look at me for something like this... Its a nice thought though.

Totally true, pure math, if their LE editions, the exclusive 'regular' editions, from the POA for example, 4810 pens made, meaning for a LE requested from you they would at least need a confirmation for 20% that number (around 960 pens) and realizing that it must be an already done pen with minor changes... Could be the Chatterley 149 :puddle: but again... the first sign of closed production is that there are no Boutique editions.Their loss....

I would get 2, 22, and 222 :roflmho:

Just buy a box of Snowcaps and put one piece on top of your pen in the morning. Eat it before putting the pen away. ;)

Luckily for me, I'm not fond of the colour. Well done Bry - and me for saving the money!

Wait 'til you see the depth of color in those beautiful bodies! The nibs look so deceptively plain, without all the fancy colors of the bodies. Then you touch them to paper and whoosh! :cloud9:

Definately one of the most tasteful and beautiful pens I have ever seen.

Mucho Kudos to the designer.

The name, Marmo Venato, is really good, as is Alabastro Venato.

Just for fun, Verde Venato (Green Veined), and Olivastro Venato (Olive (colour) Veined) are two other thoughts.

Thinking Italian, I would say Che Bella Venato!

OK, sorry, I don't speak Italian, so it probably makes nonsense.

Absolutely love this pen. I may have to sell some of my black and golds.

Congratulations Twoodi, on the Krone Boulder, if its the one I think, with the broad nib. Gorgeous.

Thank You Bryant

Since this has turned into a sales thread in addition to an admiration thread, I'm migrating it to MarketWatch and leaving a link in here.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
