Are you aiming to sell it Speedy, or are you considering whether it is a standard packaging ?

I'm not sure whether anyone would buy either version on it's own...

The see-through one is my preference , but I will put my 530 in my pencase that I take to work, which contains 4 other pens.

Great pen though !!

OK! so far everyone like the clear one. I will make it as optional accessory since the tooling is done anyway.

Leather soft case, yes, it has been always in my mind, but I need to source a good supplier to make and decide on some good design. The reason I am interested in this is that I found some nice cases but they are too expensive for me.

Let's start some input here

1. Case for how many pen: 2, 3, 5, 6....?

2. Hard case or soft case: I always like the soft one

Leather --soft--4 pens--slim not bulky but can hold large pens like the MB 149.

I like ones wherethere is no flap toget in the way --like this one--Levenger Carezza pen case I wish it came in a 4 slot version.

Just suggestions

I would! It's a nifty idea.

I got a Taccia Merit a while back, which is a pretty big pen, and I've been flailing about to find a carry pouch that it'll fit into. I've already got my hands on two that looked good in photos but don't really fit the pen. It's been rather a nuisance. It's nice to know I won't be getting into that problem with the Diamond 530.

As for a leather case, make sure it has a LARGE medallion for the TWSBI brand, front, back or both. Personally, I would go for a napa leather (soft leather) with at least 3 pockets. I like a flap because that makes sure even the cap portion of the pens is protected. One thing that might be worthy of consideration is the top open section for each of the pockets. That portion should be reinforced with a plastic or cardboard inner layer for those who like to clip the pen. I find with my pen case, the leather is too soft that whenever I try to clip the pen in the pocket of the case, I have to lift the clip a little to mount it because I did not want to stretch the leather out.

Soft 3 pen leather case, and I agree with the input about having a plastic component to aid in clipping the pens.

I prefer the white plastic box, but I don't have much interest in the plastic case. I don't like the clear because it's a lot cloudier than the pen itself. I don't like that mismatch.

I like the second white one; in case you offer it in white or another color that might not be so ink sensitive.

I prefer the white; to my eyes as it looks less like plain old packaging for a pen, similar to that used for the Lamy Safari. I agree that other colors would be dandy.

To be honest, I own three of these pens because the price point means I do not worry about throwing them in my pocket or my bag without protection. If I broke or scratched one, I'd just buy another!

What may be an idea is to offer the pens without the spanner and grease in the clear plastic box for a cheaper price - maybe for multiple purchases. I would buy a box of 5 it was $120-$150.

Speedy: I vote for the clear case to be able to see the pen; HOWEVER: I also would love one in leather. In this case, I suggest soft leather with 3 or 4 individual slots for the pens to keep these from micro-scratching against each other; these slots should be like tubes, so one has option to fasten the clip on to the edge of the tube or not (personal preference); I don't like to fasten the clips because , over time, this stresses the clip; I like the slots loose enough to be able to easily reach the pens and remove without putting any pressure on the cap over time ( to prevent making the cap loose or stressing threads in case of a screw on pen. Regarding the flap over the pens versus the Carezza pen pocket model (see other post with link to Levenger), I sort of like both designs; there are times it is nice to not have to deal with a flap; however, the ripply nature of the top of the pen pocket could cause some shirt pockets to bulge and not look neat; also, a person could lean over and have the pens fall out of such a pocket inadvertently. The flap over the top is neater and more pristine, but does require taking hold of the case to open it; however, some cases are supple enough to tuck the flap into a pocket behind the pens, basically serving as a open top pocket that one can flap over when desired; also less chance of pens falling out if one takes these out of the shirt pocket and places on a desk; not, too, that women may want to carry such a leather case in a purse, keeping nib facing up; the flap design is a safer way to keep the pens from falling out into her purse if the case should shift inside.

I like this idea --some way that there could be a flap but tuck out of the way when I don't want it.--That would be a winner.

I always prefer clear, but this clear looks a little... cheap. I think it's the clouded plastic, I prefer real glassy clear.

But as I have read some people just have an (to me unnatural) aversion to clear/demos, I agree with the earlier statement that you should probably make some of the opaque one as well.

I like the clear one the best (unless sparkly purple or pink is an option? No? *sigh*).

I think you need to think about people other than those who put their pens in their pocket. I.e. most women. I don't wear clothes with pockets to put a pen in (like men do) so it has to go in whichever bag I have that day (along with all the other stuff) and a slim hard plastic case like that seems like much better protection than a soft leather one.

It would be nice to have a clear hard plastic case that held 2/3 of the pens for people who need 2/3 colours for their daily writing purposes.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
