Would it be possible to post a photo of it next to a Lamy AL-Star or another more common pen? I'm getting worried that this pen may be too big for me; I'm more of a Pelikan M400 girl...

Blah, I was trying to have all the pens out before anybody got theirs. Sorry for the delays folks!

I have shipped about 60% of the orders as of today. I am going to pull a marathon and see if I can get all the pens mailed by 8pm Taipei time tomorrow. If not, all pens should be out my door by wednesday, and i'll open up the 20-30 leftover pens to the waitlist on Friday (they will be my little beta testers for another project)

Are you still sending out heads-up emails when you ship? Just hoping I get at least that....for now....

There's a comparison from mahkie's thread found here which includes writing samples and size reference.

Thanks for posting the link--even if it only fuels my worry. My AL-Star is the largest pen I have, and even that's too big (it's for sale as we speak). It looks like the Twsbi is even bigger than a Safari.

even though it's big, you still may enjoy it...

I'm definitely going to ink it and try it. I shall not give up so easily! :)

Ahh! I can't wait to get one! I knew it would be a while so I put it on the back burner, but now having paid and awaiting shipping confirmation and seeing more pics of it, I'm getting ants in my pants to get this in my hands!

many thanks for that very instructive video!... what about the silicone grease, when and where should that be applied (not anytime soon, i imagine)?

If you look at the 2nd last photo labelled misc, you can see the instructions on where the silicon grease goes (on the piston rings).

I'm impressed, a lot of "Award Winners" are just hype but this Twsbi looks really well thought out and executed.

Mine will be on the flight 2010/07/07. Let's see how many days (or weeks) are needed to process the parcel locally. Veerry good up to now, invoice, shipment, tracking nr., all smooth and dependable. Really appreciated commitment.

Great pics, thanks for sharing!

Now I am even more impatient for my TWSBI to arrive. Either it has been stuck in customs since the 1st or the site isn't updating the shipping info. However, with the holiday weekend, I don't expect it to be out of customs until at least tomorrow.

OK. The mailwoman just dropped off my pen...

The quality and beauty of this design is really to be commended! Wow. I am thoroughly impressed. This pen far exceeds my expectations, and I haven't even ink the pen up yet!

Wow. Just wow! :clap1:

It's here!

First impressions: I'm impressed by the quality of the packaging. The pen has a good feel in my hand: not too big, lightweight and sturdy.

Now to ink it up and take it for a spin.

Hi dizzypen, I'm envious you already got the parcel. I have to wait until next week, I think; the postal flight for my pens is scheduled tomorrow.

In the meantime, if you have this magnificent design in your hand... is the section screw secure enough? Usually piston fillers cannot unscrew the section from the body, in this design not only the nib unit can be disassembled, but the entire final section, and that's really unusual (and intriguing).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
