Can I crash here tonight?

Thesaurus Rex

Recommended Posts

I just tried to hook up to it via my computer and the program stream does seem to be down. I am emailing my boss first thing in the morning to find out what's going on.

Maybe the Internet Gods saw me teetering precipitously toward the Bad Radio Abyss and pulled the digital plug on me. An act of mercy.

The music was good tonight, just...I wasn't.

Honorable winedoc-san, the link is http://www.wuga.org. (*bowing deeply*)

Thanks. Will give it a go. What time are you on? This sounds fun, a celebrity among us ;) very cool

Hey, Doc!

My show airs 10 to midnight Eastern time. Although now the notion of even MORE people tuning in to hear me mangle composers' names has got me all freaked out. It's a nightly tightrope walk.

If I'm a celebrity now, how come I'm so broke?

Cheers!

Rex

Hi Rex,

how come I'm so broke?

Hahahahahahaha.... Maybe because of something that is the main topic of this board?

I believe you. Nice program. Nice radio to listen to while working... I've been listening few hours before you came on.

Too bad I can't receive it in my car... in which I'm gonna jump in few minutes to go home.

Thanks for listening, Denis! We are very proud of our station.

I wrote the name of that Stanley Meyers piece down, let's see..."Cavatina". It was used in the movie, "The Deerhunter". The version I played is on the album, "A Portrait of John Williams".

Glad you enjoyed the show. I enjoyed tonight's show a whole lot more than last night's, that's for sure.

Bryan, Kevin,

it works with iTunes for me (I use the windows version). Under the "Advanced" menu, choose "Open Stream", and paste that URL : http://live.wuga.org:8000/

That's a bit pedestrian, but I am behind a heavy firewall at work, and iTunes is the only software that went through it.

Denis.

btw, I downloaded iTunes for Windows recently, and the playback quality is much higher than Windows Media Player.

iTunes can be downloaded from Apple.com.

Ok, is it just me or does that piece from "The Deer Hunter" sound a lot like the theme from "Forrest Gump"?

Itunes is great but one word of caution... unless you want duplicate copies of any music you import disable the feature in Itunes that does the format conversion.

I'll look up the specifics...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
