What Ink Are You Going To Use In Your New Twsbi Demonstrator First?

irbyls

Recommended Posts

I received my TWSBI invoice today, and now I am giving myself permission to be excited. :bunny01: So, my question to everyone is this: What ink will you use first?

I think I'm going to use J. Herbin Lierre Sauvage. I can only imagine how lovely that green will look inside that new demonstrator. :cloud9:

Hmm... :hmm1: This post may be in the wrong forum. I'm asking about ink, but for a newly released pen which has been ordered by many FPN members. Mods, feel free to move this post to Inky Thoughts if you think it belongs there!

I was thinking green too, probably Visconti Green.

Either Diamine Tropical Blue or Skrip Peacock Blue.

Best, greg

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

Skrip Peacock Blue here, too. Non-staining and easily washable, just in case I decide to sell the pen (I ordered a Fine, and I've really been leaning more towards Medium lately :headsmack: ).

This thread owns, haha

In my experience, Noodler's inks that are really opaque look cool, esp reds like my Mazu red. Also, Iroshizuku Momiji is see-through enough to look really cool.

I can't wait to ship pens for you guys! I hope you all have a great time writing with the pens!

Pilot M90 F- Iroshizuku Tsuyu-Kusa

Sailor 1911 EF - MB Blue

I'm sure we'll enjoy it. :) I know that I'm stoked for a clear demonstrator, especially an inexpensive piston-filler!

I've been thinking about this question for the last few weeks. I received the invoice today (hooray!!), so I had better make up my mind soon. I'm leaning towards Herbin Poussiere de Lune at the moment.....decisions, decisions!

I am thinking Iroshizuku Asa Gao, but knowing my fickle nature with inks, who knows what it will be when it actually arrives!

Still a bit undecided here, though I am thinking one of these:

FPN Van Gogh Starry Night

J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir

J. Herbin 1670

Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
