Ancora Pens- New Us Distributor

Bryant

Recommended Posts

So, I had been waiting on news from the new Ancora US Distributor and looks like they got stock as well as a few samples of pens to come in the following weeks. The same Distributor has Marlen pens.

The Ancora Neptune is in the US, and the Demo 2010, Raphael and Sword should be in stock in the next few weeks. I am also told they will soon have stock on Pearlas as well as a few newer "everyday" users.

The Raphael looks really nice to me.

Here are a few pics... The Neptune are my pics, the rest are from them.

Yes, the blue Raphael caught my eye, too.

I'm not familiar with Ancora pens - I see I need to do some research.

Very nice, Bryant.

The nibs are fantastic. I have 2 Perlas and they feel like nothing else out there... :cloud9:

Glad to hear it, Bry.

I'm interested in trying out an Ancora nib! The pens are very pretty. I especially like the Capri, but I'm not sure whether or not that one is still available.

No, that one is sold out. I happen to have one, and they come up in ebay from time to time... You have to try these nibs though, very different than any other nib out there.

Cheers!

The nibs on these are awesome! I have 2 Perlas with B nibs that feel like no other pens.

What nib sizes will these come with, Bry? What color Perlas are still out there?

So far I know of fine, medium, broad and stub. The Stub does not have a whole lot of variation, but I used it all day yesterday and its nice. Im not sure on the current colors.

Cheers!

So if not much line variation on the stubs, are they more like M-Bs or are the corners that rounded? I know you'll tell me true, one stub lover to another.

Its more like a BB if you ask me. I dont fell much variation, I will still stub mine... It feels and looks a bit different than a B, but its not a stub like a Visconti/Aurora/Stipula...

Their stubs are nice, but agreed they're like a BB. Kind of like my Marlen BB but with a tidge more oval shape.

Since I like Visconti and CS BBs, they might be an option for me? :hmm1:

For sure! They are more for you than me... I like more variation, but for you they might be perfect.

There's times when I'm going for maximum ink as fast as possible before that idea escapes! :eureka:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
