I think they might be right, watch_art.

Years ago, when I lived in Kentucky, the local mall had one of those aisle kiosks that sold Colibri lighters, pens, etc. My sister got me a tortoise shell pattern Colibri ballpoint (like this) for Christmas one year. It wasn't bad to look at, had a pleasant weight/balance, and the twist mechanism was the smoothest I've ever experienced; but the refill was terrible. Among the worst-writing pens I've ever had.

I considered trying to find a different refill for it, but I'd moved by then and couldn't find one.

I've got a couple of those, I think a Cross refill fits it. They aren't bad--probably like the new made in China Crosses.
