Information On the Stipula 22

es, here is one :D :

Occasionally there are some smooth(er) transitions. And as Kurt indicates, he is not a fully trained Copperplate professional. I would think it is just that.

Other than this, the pen is still quite new, I think, so the feed may not have been initiated properly yet; it normally requires 1-3 full converter loads, IME with other pens.

HTH,

Kind regards, Wim

If you look to the left embellishment that pretty much shows the excess ink as the line turns back to the left.

As for initiating the feed. I usually do a little OCD fill, that is I fill and drain then repeat 3 times. Looking at my Lamy Vista this pretty much soaks the feed and makes sure the entire area from nib into converter is full o' ink.

I used to do this too, but found it doesn't always work well enough, hence the prolonged breaking in. Since I can't wait long enough for it just to stand and soak in, I'll just empty the pen by writing. Hey, the nib needs exercisizng too, y' know!

Kind regards,

Wim

Ya, I think Dennis got it. Habanero. My only other guess would be PR Shoreline Gold.

Bryan

Edit: One more guess, if your a Herbin Ink fan, it has to be Orange Indien?

Habanero ? Of course, I'm still on the Noodler's track, which is a bold assumption...

Nope not that pepper either!

But here's a quick scan of the bottle. Sorry my scanner's a bit old.

So did you rule out the PR Shorline Gold?

Bryan

Congratulations on guessing correctly!

I wasn't too sure it would be a pure color since I'd had Fiesta red in the pen before.

Nice Kurt!

So Penhero always gives the winner some kind of nice pen. Tell me again what I won?

The prize as stated before is:

"I will give a hand written scan of correctness to the first person that can tell me what ink I filled my pen with to write that!)"

And so without further ado..

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
