Hi,

Thank you for the welcome. You are correct, I am geeting ink addicted too. I have about 20 bottles now. I was in Shanghai a couple of months ago and purchased six bottles there, they cost less than a dollar per bottle. My favourite for the moment is Noodlers Lexington Grey. It is quite fun to use a bullet proof ink that looks like it has been written with a pencil.

Hej hej!

I'm not Swedish, but I learned Swedish in college! My mom and her family is Danish.

Vaelkommen (too lazy to find the diacritical marks)!

Sometimes the cat needs a new cat toy. And sometimes I need a new pen.

Hej,

I am also half Danish, my father came from Denmark but the only traces of that is that I like Carlsberg and unhealthy pastries with chocolate on.

You don't have to be half Danish to like that!

hi mike,

i have that same ink. i have several Noodlers actually. currently, my favorites are walnut brown and otoman azure blue. i find lexington grey just too light for everyday writing. but now that you mentioned the word "pencil" made me think that i should really try to use my finest nib with the lexington grey. maybe i can finally make use of this full bottle of grey ink in exchange for my pencil. thanks.

Hi Rudy,

I have tried the Lexington Gray in several pens and with different types of paper and it behaves differently. The shade goes from light grey to almost black. If you try a more wet pen I believe that you will get a darker tone.

Hej, fint med så många svenskar här. Varför hat vi inte startat eget? Hur som helst, vi kunde ibland ordna någon träff eller sånt och dela erfarenheter eller visa upp ögonstenar. Hur låter det?

Sorry for secret code, rest of the members :)

Hej och välkommen - kul att se fler Svenskar här. Ibland känns det väldigt tom,t på folk som förstår sig på vad man (och varför :) ) man sysslar med. :)

Hello Michael and welcome to FPN, from another Internal Auditor, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
