I have two Coronets which I like (they're gorgeous), but they are a bit smaller than I prefer. So, I'm now considering the Churchill - classic green with an Italic Broad nib? Hmmm....

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have a Dandy - beautiful color, writes like a dream with an italic medium nib. But ... then I got a Churchill. I'm just not using the Dandy as often.

Thanks for confirming what I've been thinking.

What color is your Churchill?

My Churchill is a brown whirl. If you go back to my original post it shows a Churchill in my brown whirl color. It's my favorite CS color. Kind of a muted gray/green accented with swirls of dark to orangish brown. The underlying gray/green goes very well with the gold bands and clip.

The color conveys elegance better than the brighter or more dramatic CS color selections. But the Brown Swirl offers more interest and depth than the black, metallic or solid color pens. I'm also a fan of some of the CS browns. The Bracket Brown is rich looking.

I hope that some of you will post pictures. I've not seen half of these models. I've seen the Knightsbridge and Brittania - incredible pens - and of course, the Winston. But, the Wordsworth, Raleigh, Trafalgar, the Bard & Wellington? Do show off your pens!

YES!! PHOTOS PLEASE!!puddle.gif

Lever fill Churchills have become my CS of choice for times I don't want the big silver pens. :cloud9:

I am anxiously awaiting my first Conway Stewart, a Coronet Exmoor w/ M Nib; from what I have read in this forum, this will probably be my favorite pen.

( not exactly answering the question of most favorite CS, but when I add to the collection, I will be able to respond)

By the way--great CS forum, as a newbie I am still learning from you all--thx

Yet to buy into the CS Brand, but the Winston in either green or claret with silver trim would by my favourite.

If you can only choose pens you own, i would say my 478, which has a seriously delicious nib.

If i get to choose any pen, i take the green Westminster :D

I absolutely adore my Wellington - the light-weight, the great size (not too big, not too small), the elegant, subtle taper and the absolutely insanely gorgeous red resin (although I don't know exactly what the colour is).

Who says that plastics can't be beautiful?

I've been planning to buy a Churchill at some point - although when I handled one in Fortnum and Mason it just seemed... a bit much. It is a VERY large pen. I bought the Wellington instead.

So impressed am I that I've decided to buy one of the Khione Coronets. I'll let you know how it compares...

Still planing to purchase a Churchill at some point as well, but not quite yet...

Too many pens; too little writing.

Difficult choice. I love my lever fill Dandys. Also love my 58s. Go through phases where the Dinkie gets a lot of use or if I want a slightly heavier pen than I also love the Centenary Collector's Edition.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
