Hi

I was wondering what these pen boxes are actually worth? they are 100% genuine pen boxes with service guide and outer box. They usually come with all the recent pens such as the meisterstuck and starwalker models. Ive got about 12 of these new boxes laying around, so wanted to know if they worth anything. Thanks (pen is shown for reference only :roflmho: )

P.s i would post this in the for sale section, but dont have enough posts to do it at the moment :(

I do remember a thread or two about people buying the boxes, but for the life of me dont remember what the threads titles were. Theres interest for them thats for sure.

Now bottles? I'd pay well for emtpy MB ink bottles. :-)

Do you not need the warranty information on the back page of the info booklets?

Lol! I think people are generally only interested in boxes for limited edition pens. These are just standard boxes for people who have brought the pen on its own. All the service guides are unstamped. The ones that were stamped, ive kept. But all 12 boxes come with unstamped service guide books.

Some of us like even the standard boxes, too... :)

Well, one of them is!

I bought one for a 146 that I had. These were genuine boxes by the way - I'm guessing from the days when MB didn't just sell through boutiques and a shop that stopped selling MBs offloaded them as a job lot. Obviously some customers weren't bothered about taking the box home with them...

That must be one of the most popular reasons for buying them....

ebay used to remove them as "encouraging illegal activity" but I'm not sure if they still do so.

There appears to be a few fake star walkers in the uk shown with real boxes on sale via online auction sites . A Joules Verne was on sale in a real box at my local pawn shop till I pointed out it was the wrong colour.

I have about 250 mint boxes with blanc warranty leaflets from Montblanc and other brands from the 1990th in my cellar store room. What shall I do with them?

Just in case any member of the FPN regard this guy with any sort of suspicion (numerous boxes can set the authenticity alarm bells ringing) I can vouch for him as being a 100% decent & honest man.

We live about four miles apart and I have dealt with him on a few occasions, with high end Montblanc items, and I am always welcomed into his family home.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
