This belonged to my friend's dad who had to be moved into assisted living I believe. Anyways, when they were organizing all his paperwork and cleaning his house and airplane hangar out (yeah! this guy had an airplane!) he grabbed a pen off the desk because he just needed one. He had it out today and I asked him where he got it (and he told me the story) and I told him what it was. He shrugged. So what?

I said, well, Mont Blanc are not cheap pens. I went in and looked on the internet real quick (we were at the mechanics shop where we all hang out in the afternoons drinking and enjoying ourselves with our beloved mechanic John) and pulled up some prices on Amazon and some other places. HOLY COW!! He says. FOR A PEN???

So of course he wants to sell it. He doesn't care about it in particular, and it has no sentimental value to him. It was just a pen he picked up off his dad's desk. Who knows what they threw away!? Oh well...

GEEZ! I'm a fathead. I added it up ALL wrong! it's 60.5/70. I thought a 50 didn't look right...

What...

A ballpoint :yikes:

And you did not sentence it to eternal condemnation???

Nice review, though ;)

I've had one of these for over 15 years and I love it. The weight and the shape make it the most comfortable pen I have ever used. I don't use it often as I prefer a fountain pen but when a ballpoint is required this is the one.

Sweet review. I too have my dad's MB ballpoint, (burgundy) almost 10 years now, the nearest I came to losing it was at a conference when someone (a boss of course) grabbed it to have people sign into the sub-session! Got lots of comments though. I always try to use the B refill.

I have a red one and a black one, bought from Fahrneys in 1983 for $44 each. They are a good reason to carry the fountain pens with them in my shirt pocket. They are really nice ballpoints and the refills, especially the broad refill write nicely.

They took the blue from the skies and the pretty girls' eyes and a touch of Old Glory too . . .

I think you meant Meisterstuck, not struck ;) I have a Classique 164 and it's a really nice ballpoint. I wish it was a little larger, though.
