Dunno. Interview might have come off timid, but shortly thereafter positive changes were announced by Herbin. I'd rather see action than hard driving answers.

True enough.

I like some entertainment along the way too-

tis a spectator sport after all!

I'm not suggesting an interrogation, however if Jean were to be asked all of the questions/ suggestions above, then it would be a marathon by my reckoning.

Edit- by the way, I have not seen any updates posted in the past month or two about which colours may be produced in the 100ml bottles (sorry to interrupt this thread GP); have you?

Last I saw was the poll asking which were favorites. I suspect a missive to Biffybeans or Goulet Pens might yield updates for the US markets.

I would to see if they have plans for an inexpensive piston filler, i.e. under 150 USD.

You mean the Eternal Bird? I just love piston fillers and hate that Montegrappa and Visconti don't make any inexpensive ones like Pelikan does with the M100 and M200.

Yep fair call.

I prefer piston fillers but that didn't stop me or you picking up a Monty Modi.

I still have not used mine, and also thinking about which ink to use.

And if that bird would have come equipped with a broad nib I would have snapped one up too!

Alas, my Bird is a medium, but I am quite content as I have found in my experience my Montegrappa nibs tend to run on the broad side.

Oh, its an extreme understatement! But I did not buy my Bird from Bryant as my local store had one in stock for the same price and I jumped on it. Oh and words cannot describe its beauty. I am working on a review of it but until I have proper time to use it my review won't come out until the summer.

Wow, great buy and I am thinking of jumping on THAT bandwagon!

I look forward to the review in whatever season it will be up there

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
