I hope this isn't presumptuous, but given that Part VI is 24 pages and (bleep) is no longer active on this board, I am taking the liberty to add another section.

I'm reading Cold Sassy Tree, by Olive Ann Burns.

'Paper against Gold', by William Cobbett and 'The International Jew', by Henry Ford ( Yes, that Henry Ford ! )

You'll never worry about how much money you spend on fountain pens again after digesting these two - I'm on my second

reading of both.

Recently received Parker "51" by David and Mark Shepherd as a gift and have spend the past few hours learning how truly remarkable this pen really is and the process that took it from an idea to a reality.

The American Patriot's Almanac: Daily Readings on America and The Five Thousand Year Leap two great books.

Just got my Barnes and Noble Nook yesterday, and the book I was ready to read is not available for it yet :( Deadhouse Gates, Malazan Book of the Fallen 2. So now I must chose another fantasy series to start I guess, I have yet to read Farseer by Hobbs, what do you other fantasy readers think?

Frankenstein by Mary Shelly

It is much better than I expected it to. I am glad my teacher is making us read it for class.

In my lunchbag, I've just finished Blood of a Dragon, and just started Taking Flight, both delightful young-adult fantasy by Lawrence Watt-Evans. At home, I'm just about at the end of The Women and the Warlords, third book in Chronicles of an Age of Darkness by Hugh Cook (Corgi edition strongly preferred over the butchered American version).

The Invisible Man, can;t believe it took me so long

The voice of this guitar of mine, at the awakening of the morning, wants to sing its joy;

I sing to your volcanoes, to your meadows and flowers, that are like mementos of the greatest of my loves;

If I am to die away from you, may they say I am sleeping, and bring me back home.

I'm currently reading Angels and Demons. It's a great book so far. I have not yet seen the movie, but I hear that the director has captured the story quite well.

Read large parts of Roads to Quoz last summer. Read the trip to the North-East while travelling in New England around Cape Cod. Interesting read; very verbose, definitely a special style. Stays with you even after a few months. Gave me some ideas for long roadtrips that have not been done probably.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
