Things were a little cranky this morning but seem to be working fine now.

Kcat... get back to work.

No more goofing off at FPN.

I have almost been able to catch you to claim the title as "Most Verbose" but you have managed to stay ahead (barely) by a few posts.

Have a great day!

maybe you'll catch up in the next few days. I got 2000 words written last night! 1780 written two days ago. Woohoo! (hey, it's a lot when you've been in a writing fog bank for several years.)

uh... point being - i plan to be on my other PC for several hours a day for a while. With periodic checks of FPN of course because I'm addicted.

I really did have palpitations for a moment there.

so much for me not having an addictive personality! :meow:

I wish someoneyanked away not just FPN access for me, but access to the whole internet  It has become a favorite tool for procrastination at work. It is getting almost out of control. Perhaps I should rearrange my monitor so that it is visible to anyone walking by my office, to hopefully encourage me to stick to work

well - I have a work PC in a different room. So I take my hourly break and come check it out. We have to keep a disconnected development environment so...

but the real challenge isn't getting up from my work PC to come in here to check the group. But the opposite.

getting better though. I've enjoyed actually feeling useful today.

I never realized that when they say you should take a break away from the computer every hour, you could take it in front of another one

Hey Denis,

Taking a break from work on a computer obviously is playing on another one.

You must have been slightly muddled when you wrote that...

Kind regards,

Hi KCat, Denis,

I have too many computers to take a break from, so now I just sit at the same desk, with one of them toggle boxes, instantly switch between them...

Only problem is I still have to connect my deskjet and label printers... clean up the mess, etc.

Fortunately have KCat's stuff all in a single box :D, otherwise I would lose it all.

In the mail tomorrow, if I feel well enough to leave the house (flu, wheezing, sniffing, sneezing, occasionally floating in the air- didn't know I could do that  ). I'll see after tonight's hot coldrex...

Warm regards,

not only mad, crazy too

Don't you dare go out unless you have to! Get well first.

I got enough guilt on my plate (see, I made into something selfish, just to be on the safe side.) :)

Hey! Don't take the guilt trip away from me! I was enjoying my feelings of guilt :P !

And I'll only go if I go to work, otherwise I won't. Promise. :D

So, no reason to feel guilty.

Warm regards,

Hi KCat,

Nope, I've set a filter specifically on admonishing emails  .

Where did you send it? Try wimg@kybr.net or fp@kybr.net, those should work, or leave a message for me here. If they don't you could still try wimtmd@google.com.

Warm regards,

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
