Location Field is back

The "location" field is back in member profiles. However to fix it the old field was removed and a new field was added which means that if you previously listed your location you have to re-enter it. To do that go to your name at the top right of the screen. Click on the drop down arrow next to your name and select "My Profile". On the upper right side of your profile screen click on "Edit My Profile" Scroll down. The location field is just below gender.

Am I the only one that sees TWO "Gender" fields in my profile?

Bill

You are not alone. I've got two 'gender' fields as well as two fields to list 'interests'.

I was hoping it would show up in posts with group, no. of posts, etc. Any chance of that coming back? And, thanks for all of the work that you continue to do.

Just noticed it when I logged on after an afternoon bicycle ride. Thank you for the work that went in to restoring this useful feature!

Mine came back on its own, without my doing anything. I feel special! :cloud9:

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.

Another thank you. I am now back where I belong, no longer wandering aimlessly not knowing where I am...

I think, however, you need some more choices for the Gender field.

Along with Male, Female and Not Telling we need --

Confused (for those for whom the question is too hard)

Yes, Please (for we Aussies)

No, Thank You, I'm English (self explanatory)

Thank you, thank you. Now, if you could only get everyone to fill in this field in their profile - then we'd be all set.

Just for those of you who didn't, or don't know: the fields that are now visible, are those we decided on a long time ago, in a long discussion about pros and cons of these fields. Gender was deliberately struck from the list, as were a bunch of others.

For people not wanting to show their location, as this clearly is an optional field, the only thing they have to do is leave it empty or blank it out.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
