I repeat, let's move on now.

Will I get in trouble for not moving on if I just add that I like this? It really is nice to have these two things separate and, I think, much easier to use this way. Thanks and thanks for deciding to pin the topic.

I don't think you will get in trouble for agreeing with the mod. Okay, time for me to move on.

OK, I'm pretty behind, having tried to catch up at work and home after the trip to Korea. (BTW, I was a dufus and didn't back up my PMs before they got wiped, so apologies if I missed something - I do have everyone's address written in my Little Black Book, though).

I've gotten a BUNCH of lovely postcards, including ones from FredRydr, inkypete, tr3n1ty, Suggie, pmsalty, and orangesam. I think I owe EVERYONE a postcard, so I'll be sending ones out to all the ones on my list (admittedly, not many). I also owe a card to slqqq.

Reprieve - I am PMing you right now. Tr3n1ty - I am home now.

:::deep breath:::

OK, back to work.

:bonk:

Edit: Forgot to say - also got one from jazztonight. :D

Sent out some reply PCs today with the holiday cards. Until about Dec 17th, I will try to use Christmas themed cards. After that I think I have a few New Years cards and I'll try to send those out. I also experimented with a flexible wax seal on the corner of the PCs (stealing MikeW's idea I think) since I was wax sealing the holiday cards for fun.

I feel it's wrong tpo report on letters, though.

If I am to die away from you, may they say I am sleeping, and bring me back home.

Just a few lines to say, that work at the moment is making it tricky for me to find time to scribble PCs, so I might have to drop out of swapping until 2010!

Hope to see y'all next year FPN people ^^

Hari:

That card was in the mail in august or september!!! I thought I had lost 19 of the 20 PCs I sent back then, yet this week, I have had confirmation of about 4 or 5 more.

It almost sounds like your mail is getting sent by surface/ship rather than air.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
