Same thing has happened to me.............can't access my profile or my messages.

Interesting that these are unavailable now. Earlier when I could not read any of the forums I could still send/receive PMs.

Also, when I click on the icon to take me to unread posts it goes back to post #1.

Same here. Among other malfunctions.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

And how can this be, because he is the Kwisatz Haderach.

Not to cause a panic, but we have been short staffed on the technical side and... well, some things have gone awry as a byproduct of the software upgrade. It is incurring more manual maintenance than previously required. We probably would have stayed on version 2.x if it hadn't been for the vendor discontinuing support for that version--we were forced to upgrade.

Fortunately we have one "on call when available" resource who stepped in (in the middle of his night time too) and helped get FPN off of its knees. If it hadn't been for him, the website could have been inoperable for a lot longer.

Anyway, we'll have a more formal status message about the forum posted soon. Again, sorry for the disappointments. It's been a long day and night back stage at FPN...

Actually it's an elaborate plot to show the new Admin Team member (so new the announcement hasn't been made yet, it's getting lost in the workload) that being an admin is no simple matter.

Just an update from my end, all appears to be working fine now, a big thanks to all involved.

Thanks to all of the administrators and moderators who untangled the muddles of the last day! We're all grateful to you for your efforts.

Seems to be working fine now.

My thanks to all who put their efforts into this. :clap1:

Having moderated myself before, I know such server/software problems put a lot of stress on administrators that they easily could do without.

(I was also beginning to feel embarrassed by two double posts that I could do nothing about.)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
