J. Herbin inks, Rhodia, Clairefontaine, and Quo Vadis

GouletPens

Recommended Posts

Starting tonight, I'm proud to offer the full line of J. Herbin fountain pen ink bottles (including the oh-so-cool scented inks), Quo Vadis Habanas, Clairefontaine staplebounds (and Mlle. No wirebounds), as well as Rhodia staplebounds. I appreciate the folks here at FPN and want to gain your loyalty, so I'm offering a 10% discount with the coupon code "FPN" and free shipping in the Continental US on orders over $25. I want to provide what you want, so let me know if you want something I don't have (in these brands) and I can probably get it for you. Thanks, and happy writing!

Good stuff. Got some J. Herbin for $7.20/btl shipped. Can't beat that.

Get it while it's hot, these are pretty much intro prices that you won't beat anywhere. I really want the FPN folks to come to me for Herbin and Clairefontaine, so I'm doing some good deals here. I'll only run the free shipping through Friday, so spread the word!

The response here has been great! So much so that I'm going to place an order tomorrow for even more inks and a greater selection of Clairefontaine notebooks and Quo Vadis Robert les heros. Please let me know if there are any specific products you'd like to see offered, and I'll do my best to keep your favorites in stock!

Clothbound 4x6 Clairefontaines sometime in the future. The new colors on the Habanas. I personally would love to see a multipack with all the colors, but I don't know if other folks prefer to select their colors. Maybe if you do 'em like the Herbin, where you can choose colors for the multiple? I like having different colors for different projects.

For you Beth, I have a lot of options. If I'm ordering items in bulk, even if its not something I normally carry, I can order it when I'm getting my usual shipments anyway. I've been toying with carrying the Clairefontaine wirebounds and clothbounds, if there is enough interest I may start carrying them regularly. When you're ready to get the Habanas in all the colors as well as your assortment of clothbounds, I can get them for you in bulk (in assorted colors) and even shave a bit off the price like I do with all the other bulk packs I currently have. I'm here to serve you!! ;)

Last day for the free shipping deal AND the 10% "FPN" coupon code. After today, free shipping will be gone but the coupon will still be good.

Update - my order arrived exceedingly promptly a mere 2 days after placing it. Beautifully packed and wrapped - I don't know how it could get much better!

If you're on the fence about placing an order - don't be!

Thanks for the plug! I'm not going to promise everyone that their order will get there in 2 days, but I will promise I'll ship it out as fast as I possibly can. I know when I'm placing an order to get these products I'm squirming in my seat to get my shipment in, so I can imagine the anticipation is even worse for those of you waiting to get your stuff from me! I'm making it my steadfast rule that I'm going to make every effort to stock what I have on the website at all times, including the entire line of J. Herbin fountain inks, scents included! I did run into a situation this week where certain inks, namely Cacao du Brésil and Poussière de Lune were far more popular than others. I had only ordered 4 of each ink (30 colors, plus scented really adds up), and I sold out of those two the first 12 hours. I emailed those individuals and offered to ship the inks I had immediately, then ship the others when I got them (should be tomorrow). They were kind enough to wait, which was a relief to me b/c with a free shipping deal, I would really loose my shirt shipping a separate bottle. Oddly enough, shipping one bottle of ink with USPS weight-based Priority costs over $4! It's just about the same as doing a flat-rate envelope, which seems like kind of a waste for one bottle.

Your package was pretty because it was a box, the envelopes.....maybe not so much. The Herbin bottles are just a little too big to put in a small flat-rate box. A medium box is $9.85, which is just too much for 4 bottles of ink (I think anyway). I can fit 4 bottles in a flat rate envelope, but it requires some 'creativity'. I figure if I can send everyone their inks in a less-than-pretty envelope and save them $5 over a box, I can be forgiven O:)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
