Geez, I just saw Hari's post on receiving his set with some envy this morning when close to lunchtime, the receptionist called me.

"You've got a package!"

Thanks Athar!

My Blue F set arrived today... took a little bit longer to Oz, not helped by approaching Xmas postal rush, I'm sure.

It's pretty; trying to decide whether to use FP or put set away untouched - I have plenty other pens to use so it's not as if I'll be deprived of something to write with, and it's not often you get a vintage set in such pristine condition to save as a true collector's item.

At the moment, 'put away' is very definitely winning... as long as I remember where I put it, of course!!

Glenn.

My blue set arrived today from Kuwait. Thanks to athar201. I was pleasantly surprised to find the ballpoint pen cartridge was not dried out.

Same here. Also note that the 330 includes a "press to fill" convertor like in the Parker 51. Very nice set, thanks athar201.

I received my blue 330 today at my work in perfect condition. Thanks Athar. I was pleasantly surprised. I have had experience before of buying NOS pens from Saudi Arabia. Sadly, because of the heat, the rubber in the aerometric filling systems rotted away in front of my eyes during the first fillup.

However, no such thing with this pen. It seemed very well preserved. It has to be 30 years old, if I am not mistaken.

Great work. Keep it up.

Anyone get a medium(M) or a fine(F) nib in maroon who ordered an extra-fine(XF)?

Mine arrived in excellent condition, only it was a an XF instead of a medium (first choice) or a fine (second choice).

Thanks,

Lisa G.

Received my blue fine yesterday. The pens are in very good condition and I love the way the FP writes. I am thinking of getting one more set. Thanks Ali

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
