Excellent review! Thanks for sharing, and they're very nice looking pens. I like my blue carbonesque VP quite a bit.

Which has since been sold and replaced by a blue Decimo, which I like much better.

hi,

an excellent review. i ,too, have the decimo and it has become a favorite. it fits in my hand and i love it. ujuku gives excellent service. pen and seller are both highly recommended. as usual, no affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

I find the pricing at ujuku is very high. I can get it at JPY 11810 at the other web retailer compared to ujunku's JPY 14400 price tag on a decimo.
If you have a friend or someone who can accept and forward a package in Japan, I recommend http://www.rakuten.n...pilot/index.htm for purchasing pens in Japan.
Isn't the decimo line marketed for ladies in Japan?

I decided to get a decimo too. I just ordered the Decimo 2009 edition (pearl blue color) with an F nib. The decimo is slimmer than the VP/Capless. My Capless has an M nib; so, I thought the decimo should get an F nib.

Very good review, Dan.

I really like my blue décimo. (It's DACE-ee-mo, by the way.)

I can deal with the clip, but I don't want to, and I don't have to. I reground my pen's medium nib to a 15° left-foot oblique 0.6-mm stub. This is the only oblique I own, but boyoboy is it a nice pen!

hmm, that's funny. to me, Décimo sounds exactly like this: DÉ-CI-MO roflmho.gif

In Japan, they call it "デシモ." De-shi-moh. I know it is not a correct pronunciation for a native English speaker. But, it is one of things we call "Japan-glish" there. They don't speak English there except for a small pool of Japanese who went to school in English-speaking countries.

By the way, I don't know were the "décimo" name comes from, but in Spanish it means "tenth" and it is pronounced DAY-ci-mo.

Does the name imply that it is the tenth redesign of this fountain pen concept?

I hear "decimo" is the tenth model from the Capless(VP) first model.

i don't think it's an english word. in spanish this word means "tenth". maybe, as rokurinpapa and rpajares posted, that's the reason for the name!!!!

Was wondering if anyone who answered this thread knows the answer to this question: Does the Decimo take the same replacement nib units as the VP?

I did not answer in this thread yet, but i know the answer...may I?

The decimo and the vp use the same nib units, indeed.
