what MB pen is your dream pen ?

Is there a MB pen you dream off getting but can't either because its too expensive or too rare ?

I am talking about dream pen and not a pen for investment.

For me I have fulfilled my dream.

I don't have a specific pen but pen family.

I wanted the WE and got it but to answer my own question I'd say I would like to have the Imperial Dragon.

Not because I love the pen so much but rather because it would truly finish my WE family but I am quit content without it.

I think compared to some other pens MB made/makes my dream is relatively modest.

Oh sorry I forgot- I would really like the 18K 149

That's it then

My dream MB is the 149 solid gold 18K :)

Respect to all

My dream pen is the solid gold 149, followed by a Medici, Magical Black Widow and finally the Skelton Star.

And how can this be, because he is the Kwisatz Haderach.

For me, it is the Hemingway. I have the ballpoint but would love the fountain pen.

I still remember when the pen was intorducted - I wanted it then but didn't want to spend the ~$600 bucks. Wow, if I only new then (of course, there is a lot of things in this category).

Franz Kafka...I only WISH I could afford one. Something about that gorgeous black/red resin, the cockroach on the nib, and it's simple understated design make my heart speed up a little every time I see one.

a titanium or solid silver or carbon made MB149. Aside that I am not a limited edition collector, I would rather pick a vintage 149 with a nice nib than spending hundreds and thousands on a le that has a poor writing nib.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

The next one <wink>

Think I might feel called to a 139 with an OBB or OBBB nib. But I'm really content with what I've got.

Overall (price/rarity is no object): 139 with a broad nib

For modern MB's, a Kafka. It, and the Wilde, are the only WE's that appeal to me.

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
