This photograph is great as a piece of abstract art, Earthdawn! The composition and the use of black as such a strong negative space.I ask readers to think only about the shapes in the photo, not their subject matter.

Hey Dick, is that an Iwatch?

Been offered a Rolex Air King but I am just not sure.........Quite a modern one and the strange thing is it has a stainless bracelet, a LOT better put together than my 2001 Submariner, but the watch case is 18k white gold. I just cant see the point to be honest. Anyway I will post pictures should the deal go through

Posted by Mint last November............. I would like to see a Rolex blue mariner and blue hour MB....................

I have a Breitling B-2 with a blue face that I have had for about 7-8 years. My Montblanc Blue Hour LeGrand should be here by the end of the week.

I'll try to remember to post a picture of them together.

You have a nice eye for simple design!

The Parker 25 is a classic but somewhat overpowered by the Slow 24 hour watch and the oneblade. Not overpowered in your photo with the great lighting, but perhaps in real life by that indent for the cap and posting. The design brief was met with this simple to produce.maintain/repair pen at a price point and from aluminum. You may find the simple look in stainless or matte with no indent and no color with a better sense of design aesthetics. Although probably not any better performance.

Just a thought for looking around and not a comment at all on your putting the three together in the well-laid-out and shot photo. And impressive that you have the three in use!

Love the One Blade.

They are coy about it, but does this also take standard double edge blades?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
